Now that British Summer has finally arrived, it’s time to leave the house and get outdoors.

With the sun beating down there are plenty of opportunities to do the things we can only dream of the rest of the year!

Going outside is not only great for you and the kids, but is also a fantastic way to save money on electricity.

Since you’ll be outside, there’s no need to have the TV on in the background or for the kids to be on their tablets and smartphones.

Here are some great suggestions for things to do in this gorgeous weather!

  1. Go for a photo hunt!

This might seem quite obvious but it’s more enjoyable than it sounds!  Regardless of where you live, getting out and going for a walk is great!  Why not engage the kids’ imagination  (and your own!) and design a photo hunt round your neighbourhood.  This is a great way to make memories with your kids and lets them get creative with a camera.  For an even better day out, why not bring a picnic as well!

  1. Horseriding

This is a great opportunity to see the world around you and have fun doing it.  Horseback riding is an activity for all the family and with qualified instructors, is perfectly safe.  What better way to view your local countryside than on a horse?

  1. Be a Tourist

No matter where you live, there is bound to be some form of tourist attraction, whether it’s a museum, gallery or monument.  Take a day to fully appreciate all the tourist attractions where you live, and learn something about your town history along the way.  Again, this is a perfect way to make memories with the kids, and you never know, you might all learn something!
